This month, he once again reclaimed the previous title, according to Bloomberg’s Real-Time Billionaires Index.
Bernard Arnault, CEO of French luxury brand LVMH, has moved to second place. The change in Tesla’s stock value was the major factor behind this shift. The distance between the first two spots on this billionaires index is not large: as of this Monday, Musk’s net worth amounted to around $187.1 billion, while Arnault’s net worth was $185.3 billion, a difference of around 1%.
This year, Tesla regained some of its market value mainly due to its product pricing policy oriented toward sustainable electric vehicle sales.
Elon Musk also holds the record as a person who has lost the largest amount of wealth, at least in modern history. His top net worth peaked in November 2021, when it amounted to about $340 billion. In only a single year, Musk lost approximately $200 billion in wealth, down to $137 billion in December 2022.
