The production version of Shark UAV was first revealed just a couple of weeks ago. The developer, however, did not stop at this point and introduced the first improvements.

In the newly-published video, Ukrspecsystems shows the capability of their Shark unmanned aerial reconnaissance system to lock on and follow the target. During the initial moments of the recorded flight, it can be seen that the tracking process begins at a distance of at least 800 meters (0.5 miles), or probably even more. Different sources name the optical camera zoom to be within 30x to 90x.

“It’s not just a nice plane that flies for a long time, high and far. It should be an efficient and reliable functioning of all components. Roughly speaking, it is a reliable encrypted connection, a quality camera, flawless catapult, and a ground station,” says the manufacturer.

The company does not disclose what exact model of equipment is used in their UAV platform. Military experts say that the drone likely has a laser rangefinder and a good flight stabilization system which is necessary to ensure a similar quality of video footage.

Shark UAV is designed to fly 60 km deep into the enemy territory, and resist electronic warfare systems. The primary purpose of this platform is to collect data for targeting long-range artillery guns.
